When it rains it pours...on my ovaries.
All the surrogacy pieces are in place. Signed contract...check...all surrogate medical reports are in a approved...check...surrogate on birth control...check....
I go in for a baseline ultrasound so see if I have any ovarian cysts. All looks clear. Expect for the fact that the number of resting follicle is low (I wasn't surprised there since my blood work a few days earlier indicated a lower than desired FH and TSH level) and BONUS! I have areas on my ovaries which appear to…

Surrogacy contract: Signed sealed and delivered!
We are excited to report the our surrogacy contract has been reviewed and signed and we are officially moving forward.
After many meetings with our lawyer and a few back and forth with our surrogate and her lawyer to make sure we agreed on the terms, we are official! Since our surrogate is experienced we essentially began with a contract she had used with her previous surrogacy journeys. It made the process much quicker for both of us.
Our surrogate made two…

Pressure Cooker~
Wow! I was told by a friend who has been a surrogate and is being one right now also that this journey would play on the emotions and stress levels but i didnt believe her. I know i only had the 2nd bloods done today and im at the beginning of it all but i feel like im in a pressure cooker and the knob is stuck on low and i need to crank it to high.
I am now fully understanding what a lady, or couple infact would go thorugh and feel to have…

If I didn't tell you already, I am a HUGE fan of an online tool called My Hopeful Journey. I found the owner and creator, Lisa Drouillard, a few months ago and we instantly hit it off. We connected on so many levels. We both struggled with conceiving our first kids and we both have immense amount of passion to connect with the infertility community, make an impact, and hopefully, make your journey a better one. We've been there, done that. Lisa is someone I know I will know for a very long…

Fertile Seeds
I planted a seed to watch it grow
But where I planted it I do not know
Was it the right soil?
Did the sun make it spoil?
This whole planting thing is making me mad
I planted the seed a farmer gave me
I cant’ remember if he said to water it twice or three
He said to dig the hole into the ground
I did that and dropped it in without a sound
The silence of this planting is making me want to scream
Maybe I should have planted it inside…

Innocence..
Well ive heard it all as of today.. Didnt know if i needed to laugh, cry or just shake my head but the laughing won out in the end.
My 80 plus year old uncle asked me today as he has been very worried about the surrogacy on how they get the baby in there.
For a second i thought i had to sit him down and give him the birds & the bees chat (no amount of alcohol would prepare me for that!) but i was spared..
He thought i would have to 'lay…

First Blood Test~
Had to be in the city at 630am yesterday for my first blood test to see if im ready for the transfer. Would of been ok except my little darling 1yr old woke me at 3am so that was the start of my very long day.
The city is a good hour away from where i live so after getting up to Torrin at 3am i stayed awake til it was time to go at 5am. Feeding the cats, fish, hermit crabs and kids filled in some of that time.
By the time i got to the city i was ready for a nana nap and a large…

The Surrogacy "Blind Date"
We found someone! She seems amazing. So easy to talk to and an experienced surrogate to boot! This could be it! We decide to meet...
It's only a short drive from where we live. We can be there and back in a day. My husband decides to take a day off of work and we grab our son and go. I am excited and nervous to meet the complete stranger that is willing and able to carry a child for us. This feels right and weird all at the same time.
We get to her house. Her…

The Surrogacy Dating Game
It ironic. I never really dated. I met my husband when I was about 5 years old. We didn't start "dating" until we were seniors in high school and we've been together for 16 year.! Went to college together...bla bla bla...Just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. Yes, we are lame! But totally in love more today than ever and we love being around each other. We definitely embrace these challenges and it only brings us closer together. We definitely have our moments though. Infertility is as…

Surrogate #2 Willing but not Able
We finally have someone willing but turns out she really isn't able, according to our doctor, to have the greatest amount of success carrying a baby for us. Her medical records showed issues with her blood pressure and a few episodes of losing consciousness during her first pregnancy but not with her second. I totally agree with my doctor in that if we decide to use a surrogate she needs to be able to give us the absolute best chance at having a healthy pregnancy and child for us. I could…

Surrogate match...take two.
Found another website which has a lot of women who seem to want to be a surrogate mother more than the intended parents want a child! They express how it would be a dream for them to give a deserving couple the gift of g-d. They have already had their children and have been impacted in someway with someone who has struggled with infertility. A sister, cousin or best friend. They have easy pregnancies, easy labors and love being pregnant!
I connect with a girl who is beyond…
