Transfer #2 not to be

Sorry its taken me awhile to get back on here, things have been crazy at home and my handmade cards have taken off, look out Hallmark i say!! haha!

So i went for bloods and was told that it was a negative result :(  Was so so sure this was it as i got 2 lines on the preg tests and had all the symptoms and it was a 8 cell embrio that was put in. But sadly nope, little one didnt want to stick around.

I had asked for a break this cycle as the whole process is…

A new kind of waiting...waiting in between cycles.

We all know the terms, waiting to ovulate or waiting to test or the dreaded TWO WEEK WAIT!. But what's the term for, waiting-to-try-again-for-ivf-to-impregnate-our-surrogate-on-our-second-attempt?? WTTAFITIOSOOSA perhaps?

Any waiting game in general sucks! Right now, I'm taking continuous birth control pills, no placebos, and I'm almost on week two of the second pack. I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday and hope to come up with a plan for our second…

In between surrogacy IVF cycles

I'm almost done with the third week of birth control pills. Spoke to my doctor this morning and she instructed me to skip the placebo pills and just go straight on to a new pack of birth control. The goal here is to not grow a lining and definitely not shed a lining. For me, shedding a lining means a retrograde of endometrium through my fallopian tubes. The lining then lands on my ovarias and creates endometriomas or "chocolate cysts". Here's a link…

Friday Night Mad Dash~

So its friday night and im having a quiet time at home with kids in bed, hubby at work and all. I think to myself i should get a early night as i had big day planned on saturday with the kiddies. Off i go to get my 'bullet' and cant figure out why there is none left in the box.

They have to be kept in the fridge and i generally break a few capsules off and pick them up when i need them. But friday night there was none.. So the freak out begins! I didnt notice that morning…

Are we trying too hard?

I am learning now that expecting IVF to work the first time was an unrealistic hope. In my case, I was certain borrowing a uterus to grow our baby was the biggest obstacle. But it wasn't. It now makes sense why doctors offer either shared risk programs or 3-try packages. From the mothers at my son's preschool and other women out there whose IVF brains I have so boldly picked, not one of them had…

Not as easy as i thought~

The Surrogacy process isnt as easy as i thought it was going to be.. I figured id have the embrio put in, id be preg, id carry the baby, birth it and im done. I didnt consider everything that has to come before, during and after..

I mean that i didnt consider that with the blood tests there are several mornings of early starts with blood tests in a row to get the ovulation pin pointed for the transfer. I didnt consider during this time id actually be frustrated and emotional…

First IVF, first surro transfer...negative pregnancy result

It's been a rough few weeks. We were fairly optimistic one of the three embryos transferred would result in a pregnancy. We knew we were able to conceive since we already have a son. Well in fact it did...for a few days. After the negative digital test the beta was surprisingly positive. Well it was at 10 so we weren't thrilled and confident. The repeat beta a few days later was still at 10 so we knew it wasn't a keeper. A few days later our surrogate began to cramp and bleed heavily. All that… Continue

1 week post transfer...negative pregnancy test

Our surrogate wanted to test one week after the transfer since this is when she got her first BFP with her last IPs. We told her to call us no matter what. The hubby stayed home from work that morning. We are beyond nervous. We are thinking it's defintiely triplets. Well, it was negative. Not the news we wanted. We are pretty heart broken and our surrogate is just as upset. The beta is still in a few days so we will pray it was just too early to test.
