First IVF, first surro transfer...negative pregnancy result

It's been a rough few weeks. We were fairly optimistic one of the three embryos transferred would result in a pregnancy. We knew we were able to conceive since we already have a son. Well in fact it did...for a few days. After the negative digital test the beta was surprisingly positive. Well it was at 10 so we weren't thrilled and confident. The repeat beta a few days later was still at 10 so we knew it wasn't a keeper. A few days later our surrogate began to cramp and bleed heavily. All that beautiful lining that we all worked so hard on getting was flowing away just like our hopes for another child.

Now the question is, do we try again?

It's so hard to hear the word "Negative", especially when everthing looks great and you did everything right.  It doesn't make it any easier when there is no real explanation for what went wrong.... That rollercoaster is never easy.  I know your heart is aching, I've been there 6 times....  I don't have any words that will make you feel better, but I hope you can find comfort knowing that you are not alone.  I remember my surrogate told me during one our IVF failed cycles --  "now is not your tme, but one day it will be".  I will always remember that, because I felt so much better after she said it.  For whatever journey you decide next, we are here for you to provide support every step of the way.....   Hugs --

Marni, I'm so sorry to hear. I wish I had words to say that would turn it all around. My thoughts & prayers are with you as you and your husband walk through the next door together, whatever it may be.  ~Britney
