Surrogate Lining Check. Will transfer happen today??

It has been 3 days since our day 2 transfer was cancelled/postponed. Our surrogates lining was not thick enough for a transfer. We decided to try acupuncture for four days to see if that would help improve the lining. Acupuncture was the only thing we didn't do this cycle that we did in a prior cycle. Will it work to improve her lining?

Well, the verdict is in....it was a 10! We did a day 5 embryo transfer! The 5 day transfer wasn't the original plan but we decided this felt right. The embryos were given a chance to grow into blastocysts and the embryologist then picked the very best ones.

As you can see from the photo, the lining was checked and the little cloud of white are the embryos in a liquid that was transferred into our surrogate! She took something to relax her body. Not that she was anxious, she is a pro at all things surrogacy. It's that the doctor sometimes likes when the body is at a more relaxed state and the uterus as well. She did great. She took a nice short nap in the surgery room and then we drove her back to her hotel near our house where she will rest, with hips up of course. I'm very lucky to have her as our surrogate.

We are very excited and feel we made the right decision rather than throwing this cycle away but at the same time, cautiously optimistic. After a failed first cycle and negative pregnancy result last summer we can only feel the odds are not in our favor. But at this point we have done all we can and now it's left up to fate...and the dreaded two week wait!

Blood test for beta will be in two weeks. Thanks to all of your support during this amazing journey!
