Guiliana Rancic and her husband Bill are currently in Denver waiting on the arrival of their first child, a son via gestational surrogacy. I am beyond excited to hear the news that their son has arrived and that they are FINALLY parents. Something they have been hoping for for so long after so much.
As their due date approached, mine came and went. Our daughter's due date came and went this weekend. When a preemie is born the actual due date is still a big milestone. They are delayed and the due date is always an important marker for their actual age when tracking their future progress.
For us, approaching our due date after the loss of our baby is even harder. You realize how long ago her birth actually was. Months ago. Way too early. It also saddens us that she isn't in our arms today. We would give anything to hold her now, deal with all the sleep deprivation, spit up, you name it.
Here are some links to keep posted on Giuliana and her new baby: Her story, her fight has been an inspiration for me. I hope some day we get to meet each other.
